UnityPulse Dictation is the browser extension for TScribe and Ureport, for Chrome, Edge and Firefox. It lets you dictate straight into any text field in a web PACS, RIS, EMR or any other site. This notice explains exactly what it reads, what it sends and what it keeps. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
1. What it reads from a page
Nothing, until you ask it to. The extension does not read, scan or index the pages you visit. It becomes active on a field only when you right-click it and choose Dictate with UnityPulse, or press the floating microphone that appears while the extension is switched on. It then reads the contents of that one field, so that it can put the report in the right place, and nothing else on the page.
2. What it sends
- Audio you record is sent over an encrypted connection to the UnityPulse transcription service, and deleted once the report is returned. It is not retained.
- Your sign-in is checked with UnityPulse so that the dictation is charged to your account.
- Nothing about the page: no page content, no URL history, no keystrokes.
3. What it keeps in your browser
- Drafts. A recording is kept in your browser when you stop, so that a lost connection or a closed tab does not lose the dictation. From the extension's popup you can replay, retry, copy or delete a draft. Drafts that cannot reach their field are kept and shown to you rather than dropped, and a retry is never charged twice. Drafts are removed automatically after a short retention period.
- Templates. Your templates, so the report comes back in your structure. They are used whether or not you have chosen to sync them to your account.
- Settings and sign-in state.
All of this stays on your device. Remove the extension, or clear its data from your browser's extension settings, to delete it.
4. Browser permissions
The extension asks for the permissions it needs to do the above: to add a right-click menu item, to run on the page you are dictating into when you ask it to, to record from your microphone with your permission, to keep drafts in browser storage, and to write to the clipboard when you choose Copy. It does not ask to read your browsing history.
5. Clinical content
The finished report is placed in the field you chose, in your records system. We do not keep a copy. You remain responsible for confirming that the report has landed in the correct record before you sign it off.
6. Analytics
The extension reports crashes and errors to us so we can fix them. Those reports contain the extension version and browser, never page content or clinical text.
7. Changes
When the extension's data handling changes, this notice is updated and the store listing is refreshed. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
